Set Up Your B2B Store Inventory Using the Commerce Setup Assistant

The Commerce Setup Assistant configures most of the settings required to use Omnichannel Inventory. Some manual steps are required to complete the implementation.

          Required Editions

          1. Run the Commerce Setup Assistant if you haven’t already.
            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Commerce Setup Assistant.
            2. On the Salesforce Commerce Setup tile, click Get Started.
          2. When the Commerce Setup Assistant finishes and you’ve created your store, sync location information with Omnichannel Inventory.
A default location group (store name) and fulfillment location (warehouse) were created for your storefront.
            1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
            2. Select Settings | Store.
            3. On the Inventory tab, click Location Management and then Commit Changes.
When you add or make changes to locations or location groups, you must commit the changes for them to be available in Omnichannel Inventory.
          3. Add inventory SKUs.
You can add up to 20 SKUs at a time.
            1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
            2. Select Merchandising | Inventory.
            3. Click Add Inventory.
            4. Select a location and enter a SKU that matches the SKU from your product catalog.
            5. Add quantity on hand and safety stock information.
            6. To add another item, click Add SKU, or click Save.
          4. Turn on the inventory service so that the storefront can check for item availability.
If you don’t turn on inventory, fulfillment orders aren’t created.
            1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
            2. Select Settings | Store.
            3. On the Inventory tab, click Turn On.
If the button isn’t available and you see an error message, you don't have field-level security to turn on the inventory service.
