          Card Payment Method Fields

          The Card Payment Method object represents a credit card or debit card.

          This table lists the fields on the Card Payment Method object.

          Field Label Description
          Account The customer account for the card payment method.
          Audit Email The email address of the card payment method owner.
          Auto Card Type The card network type, derived from the card number.
          Card BIN The first six digits of the card number.
          Card Category

          Indicates whether the card is a credit card or debit card.

          Possible values are:

          • CreditCard—Credit card
          • DebitCard—Debit card
          Card Last Four The last four digits of the card number.
          Card Type

          The name of the credit card bank.

          Possible values are:

          • AmericanExpress
          • DinersClub
          • JCB
          • Maestro
          • MasterCard
          • Visa
          Cardholder First Name The first name of the cardholder.
          Cardholder Last Name The last name of the cardholder.
          Cardholder Name The full name of the cardholder.
          Comments Comments about the card payment method.
          Company Name The company name of the cardholder.
          Display Card Number The card number. The digits are masked, except the last four digits.
          Expiry Month The card’s expiration month.
          Expiry Year The card’s expiration year.
          Gateway Date The date that the card payment method interacted with the payment gateway.
          Gateway Result Code The result of the card payment method’s interaction with the payment gateway during a transaction request.
          Gateway Result Code Description Additional information about the gateway result code. Descriptions vary between payment gateway providers.
          Gateway Token The unique token ID generated by the payment gateway to represent the card payment method for future transactions. This version isn’t encrypted.
          Gateway Token Details Additional information about the gateway token.
          Gateway Token Encrypted The encrypted version of the unique token ID generated by the payment gateway to represent the card payment method for future transactions.
          Input Card Number Input field for the card number. This field doesn’t store the card number directly, but instead populates Card BIN, Last Four, and Display Card Number fields based on the value entered.
          IP Address The IP address of the card payment method holder.
          MAC Address The MAC address of the user who initiated the payment.
          Nickname The nickname for the card payment method.
          Payment Gateway The payment gateway used to create a gateway token. For transactions with a saved payment method in Salesforce, this field stores the payment gateway record used in the transaction.
          Payment Method Address The address related to the card payment method. Also known as the billing address.
          Phone The phone number of the card payment method owner.
          Processing Mode

          Indicates whether the card payment method is used for transactions made inside or outside the payment platform.

          Possible values are:

          • External—Transaction occurred outside of the Salesforce payment platform.
          • Salesforce—Salesforce made and recorded an external call to the payment platform.
          Registered Card Email The email address of the card payment method owner.
          Salesforce Result Code

          The Salesforce result code for the card payment method’s interaction with the payment gateway. This value can be mapped to one or more gateway result codes.

          Possible values are:

          • Decline—The gateway call failed, but it may still work if the transaction is attempted again. For example, the customer had insufficient funds or briefly lost their connection.
          • Indeterminate—The gateway didn’t respond to the call. This response usually happens when Salesforce times out while waiting for a response from the gateway.
          • Permanent Fail: The gateway call failed and won’t work even if tried again. Gateway calls fail permanently for one of two reasons:
            • Hard Decline—The customer’s payment account has been closed or terminated.
            • Fraud—The gateway recognized the payment or payment method as known fraud
          • Requires Review—The customer’s bank requires more information before completing the payment.
          • Success—The gateway call succeeded.
          • System Error—Salesforce ended the payment request before receiving a response. For example, Salesforce lost credentials or access to its server. Salesforce ends payment calls if it doesn’t receive a response from the gateway within two minutes.
          • Validation Error—Customer payment data was incorrect. For example, the payment was submitted with a misspelling in the credit card address or an incorrect CVV.
          Start Month Start month of the card.
          Start Year Start year of the card.
          Status

          The status of the card payment method.

          Possible values are:

          • Active—The payment platform can use the card payment method to make payments. Active card payment methods can’t be deleted.
          • Canceled—The payment platform can’t use the card payment method to make payments. A value of Canceled can’t be changed to Active or Inactive.
          • InActive—The payment platform can’t use the card payment method to make payments. A value of InActive can be changed to Active or Canceled.
