Salesforce Order Management Licenses and Allocations

Salesforce Order Management (SOM) license allocations are based on either the anticipated gross merchandise volume (GMV) of the order summary record or the number of order summary records created. Order summary records can be either managed or unmanaged.

          Licenses and Related Limits

This table lists the licenses available for SOM. You can purchase as many licenses as you need, but you can’t mix and match licenses. For example, you can’t mix OM Growth PPO with OM Growth GMV.

Some limits shown in the table are per license. For example, one OM Starter PPO license includes 100 MB of data storage per org. If you buy six OM Starter PPO licenses, you get 600 MB of data storage. Some limits are absolute, for example, the number of fulfillment order Connect API calls per hour, per org is 25,000, regardless of how many OM Starter PPO licenses you buy.

All limits, whether quantity or dollar amount, are per org.

          Definitions That Affect Licenses

          OM Growth PPO
OM Grown PPO (Price Per Order) is an Order Management license that is sold in blocks of 1,000 Order Summary records. When you purchase a single Order Management license, you get 1,000 managed order summary records.
          OM Growth GMV
OM Grown GMV is the fully featured Order Management license that is sold in blocks of US$1,000 or the equivalent amount in whichever currency you’re using. When you purchase a single Order Management license, you get the gross merchandise value of $1,000 of managed order summary records. For example, if your average order value is $100, you get 10 order summary records.
          Managed Order
Managed orders use Order Management for order lifecycles, which lets you use internal actions, such as fulfillment, routing, discount, and return. Managed order summaries count toward the number of order summaries allowed by your license.
          Unmanaged Order
Unmanaged orders are historical orders that you bring into the system so that you can have a complete record of a customer’s order history. Because these orders are unmanaged, you can’t take internal actions, such as discounting or returning.
          Commerce on Core with OMLite
The Commerce licenses—Connected Commerce, B2B Commerce Growth, and D2C Commerce Growth—all contain OMLite, which provides the most basic Order Management functionality. With OMLite, you can create managed and unmanaged orders and perform cancel and return actions on managed orders.
          High-Volume Platform Events (Delivery)
There are two types of platform events: standard and custom. Standard events are defined by Salesforce while custom events are defined by the user, including Real-Time Event Monitoring events. The delivery allocation determines how many event notifications can be delivered to CometD and Pub/Sub API subscribers, empApi Lightning components, and event relays. Delivery allocation excludes non-API subscribers, such as Apex triggers, flows, and Process Builder processes. For more information, see Platform Event Allocations.
          Connect APIs
You’re allocated a specific amount of Connect API calls for each product area. For example, Create Order Summary allocates 30,000 per hour. The GMV license allocates an additional amount per quantity purchased. Connect APIs have an hourly limit.
          sObject APIs
You get a certain number of API calls in a 24-hour period equal to the number of records that you purchase. For example, if you purchase 100,000 orders over your contract period, you get 100,000 sObject API calls in a 24-hour time period.
          Omnichannel Inventory Additional Locations 100
You can purchase additional quantities of Omnichannel Inventory locations in blocks of 100.

          Licenses for Internal Users

As an internal user, you can use a Salesforce Standard License, a Sales Cloud or Service Cloud standard user license, or an Identity license paired with the Order Management permission set.
