          Order Fulfillment

          The order fulfillment process streamlines the allocation, assignment, picking, packing, and shipment of order items.

          • Fulfillment Processes and Flows
            Order Management includes an unmanaged package containing sample flows and processes. The samples demonstrate how you can create a fulfillment process to allocate order items to a fulfillment location and generate a fulfillment order.
          • Fulfillment Types
            Order Management provides three fulfillment categories and six fulfillment types. Each category is associated with one or more types. You can’t change the categories, but you can customize the list of types as long as you associate each category with at least one type.
          • Omnichannel Inventory
            Omnichannel Inventory delivers real-time inventory availability at the location level across all your fulfillment channels. If you’re using Omnichannel Inventory with Order Management, you can get inventory availability data from the Omnichannel Inventory service and use APIs to transfer, fulfill, and release reservations. You can also manage fulfillment locations and location groups using the Omnichannel Inventory app.
          • Configure Fulfillment Locations
            Configure the location object to represent your locations and, optionally, location priorities. Then create a location record for each fulfillment location.
          • View Fulfillment Locations
            Fulfillment locations identify the physical locations from which order product items are fulfilled, such as warehouses and retail stores.
          • View Order Fulfillment Details
            You can view fulfillment details and statuses on the Fulfillment Order page.
          • Change the Status of a Fulfillment Order
            Typically, the status of a fulfillment order updates automatically as the order moves through the fulfillment workflow. If needed, you can also update the status manually if the order hasn’t yet been fulfilled. However, you can’t go back to a status that’s already been passed in the workflow.
          • Remove an Item from a Fulfillment Order
            Removing an item from a fulfillment order cancels the fulfillment process for the item. You can remove an order item only if it hasn’t been fulfilled. For example, you can reallocate an item to a new fulfillment order if the item is no longer available at the specified location.
          • Change Shipping Details for a Fulfillment Order
            You can change the shipping method and shipping address at any time before an order is fulfilled.
