Deleted Impex and Temp Files No Longer Being Retained in Trash Folders for 30 Days

Deleted Impex and Temp Files No Longer Being Retained in Trash Folders for 30 Days

As previously announced, updated file retention rules are applied to files in the /Logs, /Securitylogs, /Impex, and /Temp folders. During the transition period to these new rules, some instances used /Impex/_trash and /Temp/_trash folders to retain deleted files for 30 days. The transition period ends with the 21.2 release for POD sandbox and primary instances. /Impex and /Temp files are now deleted without first being moved to the _trash folders.

          New retention policies:

          • /Logs: Files are compressed and moved into a subfolder log_archive after three days. Files are deleted after 30 days.
          • /Securitylogs: Files are deleted after 90 days.
          • /Impex and /Temp: Files are deleted after 30 days. Use the space in these folders carefully. Delete unnecessary files as soon as possible.

To avoid performance and stability issues, you can’t store more than 100,000 files in a folder. If there are more than 100,000 files in a folder, files are deleted starting with the oldest first. Files are deleted even if the files are newer than the retention period for the folder. The 100,000 limit applies to files in a single folder, not across subfolders.
