            Integrate Givex Gift Cards

            Point of Sale's POS supports gift card integration with Givex. Learn how to configure a Givex account with the supported functionality.

            • Modern POS App Build:
              • Gift card purchase and gift card as a tender: 5.1.0 r15000 or above
              • Gift card as a return tender: 6.6.2
            • Platform Support: iPhone & iPad
            • Offline Support: No
            • Technical Requirements: Ensure the GiveX account has Channel restriction at the user ID level as well as Encrypted and JSON-RPC as the restriction

            Set Up the Givex Integration

            1. Navigate to CMS > Integrations > Gift Cards
            2. Create a gift card service for Givex and enter these details:
              1. Service - Select Givex
              2. Store ID - If the Givex account is store-specific, then select the applicable store from the store picker. If the Givex account is common to all stores, select DEFAULT: All Stores.
              3. Card Type - Select either GiftCard OR RewardCard
              4. Transaction ID - Enter DEFAULT manually under this Transaction ID input box
              5. User Name - Enter Givex's user ID
              6. Password - Enter Givex's user password
              7. Endpoint - Enter Givex's endpoint by using the Givex host and port in this format: https://<host>:<port>/ (e.g., https://dev-dataconnect.givex.com:50104/)
              8. Currency - Enter the currency code in ISO 4217 (e.g., USD, MXN, EUR)
              9. Enable all the applicable rules:
              10. Allow Gift Card Purchase
              11. Require Activation
            Important
            Important Switching Gift Card Services will clear all fields except for Store ID and Card Type.

            Enable App Config Settings

            To set up a gift card as tender in the checkout flow, refer to Enable App Config Settings in Gift Card Support in POS.

            Create a Gift Card Product

            For gift card purchases in Point of Sale's POS, the gift card SKU/product needs to be entered into the POS system using:

            • Product Feed: Add a gift card SKU to the product feed. Make sure to add its productClass with a value of GiftCard. Refer to Product Feed for more information.
            • Create gift card in CMS: Refer to Create a Gift Card Product in Gift Cards via Payment Terminal.

            Enable POS Settings for Returns

            Starting from build version 6.6.2, the POS app has started supporting refunds to gift cards. To set up the gift card as a return tender, refer to Enable POS Settings in Gift Card Support in POS.

            Feature Support

            Point of Sale's POS app supports:

            • Purchase of gift card
            • Show balance of gift card
            • Add balance to an existing gift card (available in staging but not in production)
            • Refund to the gift card (gift card as a return tender)

            PrecitSpring's POS app doesn't support:

            • Void a gift card transaction
            • Virtual gift card

            Known Issues and Restrictions

            A refund to a gift card is supported only using brand new non-activated gift cards.
