Network Tethering Using Epson Printers
Use network tethering to connect your register to a network via an Epson printer if Wi-Fi is unstable or there are limited ethernet ports. Connect the register to the printer using a USB cable for a stable and reliable Point of Sale (POS) system, while also charging the iOS device.
Epson Printers and Network Tethering
Epson printers provide another alternative for Ethernet connection. The network tethering offers a network connection to the register that is connected to the printer using a Lightning (or USB-C) to USB-A cable. This enables a stable and reliable operation of the POS system. In addition, the iOS device can be charged at the same time.
Using Network Tethering
- If the stores have unstable Wi-Fi and seek a stable ethernet connection.
- If the stores have a shortage of ethernet ports and want to use a common ethernet port for both printer and register.
Epson Printer Models supported are TM-m30II, TM-m30II-H or TM-m30II-NT
The speed of the wired network communication using network tethering is about five Mbps or lower. Depending on the environment, the speed is slower than Wi-Fi communication.
