            Point of Sale Pay by Link (PBL) Overview

            Point of Sale's POS app offers Pay by Link functionality with two distinct payment flows. The In-Store Payment flow lets customers pay right away by scanning a QR code with their phone. The Remote Payment flow lets customers get an email link to pay later. Both payment flows are supported by Adyen and Verifone payment gateway terminals.

            Prerequisites

            Modern POS App Build:

            • Adyen: Version 7.13.5 (Version 9.8.1 required for multi-tendering)
            • Verifone: Version 10.0.1
            • Platform Support: iPad & iPhone
            • Offline Support: Not supported

            Adyen Payment Gateway:

            • Configured Adyen company account with callback URL as specified in the Adyen Payment Configuration. See Adyen Payment Configuration.
            • Configured CMS Adyen Payment Gateway.
            • For in-store Pay by Link (PBL), ensure one Adyen CMS payment gateway is configured with the following default values: FulfillmentType: DEFAULT, StoreId: DEFAULT, PaymentMethod: CreditCard, DeviceId: DEFAULT.
            • To turn on multi-tendering with remote Pay by Link (PBL), configure and turn it on in the Adyen portal.

            Verifone Payment Gateway:

            • Configured Verifone company account
            • Configured CMS Verifone Payment Gateway
            • Adyen 2024 Pay by Link (PBL) Updates in Point of Sale for EU Merchants
              For EU merchants using Pay By Link (PBL), Adyen has added three fields: Browser IP Address, Cardholder Name, and Cardholder Email Address or Cardholder Phone Number. Adyen automatically handles the Browser IP Address, but the other two require configuration in both the CMS and your Adyen account portal.

              Configure a payment gateway to support Point of Sale's Pay by Link functionality. PBL works with Adyen and Verifone payment gateway terminals.
