          Data Cloud One Companion Connections

          Data Cloud One Companion Connections

With a Data 360 companion connection, you can create a bidirectional connection between a single Data 360 and one or more Salesforce orgs. Companion connections build on the capabilities of standard connections and sync unified data back to the companion Salesforce org. With a companion connection, your Salesforce orgs get a 360 degree view of their customers built with data from all your company's data.

When you create a Data 360 companion connection, a standard Salesforce CRM org connection is also created. If you already have a standard CRM connection to the org that you're connecting to, the standard connection's name is updated to match the companion connection's name.

          • Convert a Data Cloud Home Org to a Data Cloud One Companion Org
To convert a home org into a companion org, first remove all Data Cloud data from your org, then connect it as a companion org to a different Data Cloud instance. You can’t convert an org that has Data Cloud enabled.
          • Set Up a Data Cloud One Companion Connection
Establish a bidirectional connection between Data 360 and another Salesforce org. You can't create a companion connection to a Salesforce org that's already connected to another Data 360 via a companion connection. You also can't connect a sandbox org to a production org.
          • Monitor Data 360 Companion Connections
Review the status of Data 360's connections, and check which data spaces are shared with each companion org.
          • Delete a Companion Connection
To prevent errors in a companion org, address your multi-org data dependencies before deleting a companion connection. If you try to disconnect a companion org that has dependencies, Data 360 shows you the existing dependencies.
          • Considerations for Data Cloud One in a Sandbox Org
Avoid common mistakes by reviewing these considerations before setting up a Data Cloud One cluster. Create sandbox orgs from your production orgs before establishing Data Cloud One connections, or clean up Data 360 metadata before recreating your Data Cloud One cluster. You can’t use Data Cloud One to connect a sandbox org to a production org.
          • Access Data Cloud One from a Companion Org
The Data Cloud One app is available in place of the Data 360 app on companion orgs. Use it to access Data 360 features such as profile explorer.
