Set Up a Salesforce Connection in Data Cloud

A data source and data action target are automatically created for the org where you set up Data Cloud. To connect other Salesforce orgs including Sandbox orgs, you must manually set up a connection. If this step isn’t needed, you can skip this section.

          1. Go to Data Cloud Setup, and under Salesforce Integrations, select Salesforce CRM.
          2. Click New.
          3. Click Connect to a Salesforce org or Connect to a Sandbox org.
          4. You can connect to a Data Cloud sandbox or a Salesforce sandbox org as a data source org. Click Next.
          5. Create an alias for your org using up to 15 alphanumeric characters. You can't change the alias later. Click Save.
          6. Log in to the org using your Salesforce credentials. The login for a Salesforce production or developer org is https://salesforce.com. The login for a sandbox org is https://test.salesforce.com.
          7. Click Allow in the Allow Access menu.

Your org is now available from the Salesforce CRM Connectors page.

          Add Users and Permission Sets

Now you can create users with Data Cloud permissions or update existing users to have Data Cloud permission sets.

          1. Go to Data Cloud Setup, under User Management, click Users.
          2. Add new users or edit an existing user.
          3. Select a user and click Permission Set Assignments.
            Note
Note Learn about Data Cloud standard permission sets.
          4. Click Edit Assignments.
          5. Select the appropriate Data Cloud permission set and click Add.
          6. Click Save.

Repeat these steps for all users needing access to Data Cloud features.

          Install Service Cloud Data Bundle

After connecting Data 360 to a Salesforce CRM org, install standard (sometimes called starter) data bundles to quickly deploy data within Data 360. A data bundle maps Salesforce objects to Data Cloud data model objects (DMOs).

          1. From Setup, select Data Cloud Setup.
          2. Under Salesforce Integrations, select Salesforce CRM.
          3. Under Standard Data Bundles, click the dropdown arrow for Service Cloud and click Install.
          4. In the data kit install interface, select Install for Admins Only and click Install.
          5. When the installation completes, click Done.
