          Create a Tag in Data 360

          Tags are essential for organizing, classifying, and managing data at scale. They act as metadata labels that describe the content, sensitivity, usage, or purpose of a data object or field. Tags can have one parent and multiple child tags, but they don't support more than one level of hierarchy.

          Required Editions

          Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.
          User permission needed  
          To create a tag Data Cloud Architect permission set
          1. In Data Cloud, go to the Data Governance tab.
          2. Click New and enter a unique tag name and an optional description.
            Except for periods, all other characters and spaces are allowed in tag names.. The tag API name is auto-filled based on your tag name. You can change the API name.
          3. Select the tag’s source taxonomy.
            By default, the source taxonomy is the custom tag taxonomy.
          4. (Optional) Select a tag parent.
            If you select a tag parent, you can’t change the tag’s source taxonomy.
          5. Click Next.
          6. (Optional) Assign the tag one or more classifications.
          7. Click Save.
