          Create a Marketing Cloud Personalization Data Stream

          Create a Marketing Cloud Personalization Data Stream

          To begin the flow of data from a Marketing Cloud Personalization (formerly Interaction Studio) starter bundle, create a data stream.

          Required Editions

          Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.

          Permission set:

          • Data Cloud Architect

          To create data streams from a Marketing Cloud Personalization starter bundle, you must first set up a connection to Marketing Cloud Personalization by completing the steps outlined in Set Up a Connection to Marketing Cloud Personalization.

          1. Navigate to the Data Streams tab.
          2. Click New.
          3. Select the Marketing Cloud Personalization data source (Interaction Studio) in Connected Sources.
            Important
            Important You must select your datasets while setting up a connection to see Marketing Cloud Personalization as a Connected Source.
          4. Click Next.
          5. To ingest data for the stream, choose your desired Marketing Cloud Personalization dataset.
          6. Name your dataset and create a unique Selection ID Suffix. The suffix is a way to indicate that all data streams created by this bundle came from the chosen dataset.
          7. Click Next.
          8. Multiple new data streams are created from your chosen dataset. Review the proposed data stream names. To edit the data stream names, click the pencil icon.
          9. Click Deploy.

          Your Marketing Cloud Personalization data streams are deployed. User profile and engagement data are ingested from the point of creation onwards, not historically. Existing user profiles in Marketing Cloud Personalization are ingested as new engagement events happen for these profiles.

          Note
          Note When Marketing Cloud Personalization sends two updates to Data Cloud in close succession, the connector assigns an order based on the arrival time. Sometimes, this may result in an unexpected sequence. This is an uncommon scenario, as it's rare for multiple copies of a profile to be sent in such close proximity.
