How to Write a Good Prompt for Einstein Segments in Data 360

How to Write a Good Prompt for Einstein Segments in Data 360

When creating a segment, use certain formats and language to get the best results possible. Provide descriptive names for data model objects (DMOs) and attributes to ensure that generative AI can understand them. OpenAI was trained on data that leans toward the United States, which influences Einstein’s responses. If you require a specific country, enter the name of the country in the prompt.

          Writing Good Prompts

Here are some examples to help you improve your results. The generative AI model isn’t always consistent when answering requests, so you might get different results when entering the same prompt.

Best Practice Not Recommended Prompt Recommended Prompt
Use custom field names in the prompt. Create a segment of all Northern Trail Customers Create a segment of all Brand="Northern Trail" customers
Make the prompt specific, not general. Customers who live in the UK Customers who live in the UK who engaged with my product in the past 60 days
When requesting brand data, specify it. Customers who engaged with my website Customers who engaged with the website "mywebsite.com"
Use “and” instead of commas. Customers who like running, cycling, swimming Customers who like running and cycling and swimming
Don’t use one-word prompts. Fishermen Customers who enjoy fishing
Be explicit, not implicit. Top customers 10% highest paying customers
Avoid complex date filters Customers with cases closed in the last week of every month Customers with cases that closed this past month

          Supported Operators

When you write a prompt, enter accurate descriptive text. Use these operators to specify information. When writing prompts, you can’t use the OR and Exclude operators.
