Manage Data Cloud Data Access Levels for Salesforce Users

Manage Data Cloud Data Access Levels for Salesforce Users

You can configure permission sets to grant Salesforce users view access to related list enrichments or other SOQL queries to Data Cloud data without granting access to Data Cloud or permission to view Data Cloud in other contexts.

To update data access levels, in Setup, select the permission set and go to the Data Cloud Data Space Management, then select a data space.

Grant Controlled by Parent Access to Data Cloud Data

Relationships between objects are referred to as “parent-child” relationships when one object (the parent object) contains values used by another object (the child object).

Granting Controlled by Parent access on a data space lets users view data in a child object as long as they have access to view the data in the related parent object. If you grant Controlled by Parent access to Data Cloud data, Salesforce users can view Data Cloud data in related lists or SOQL query results as long as they have permission to view the record the data is related to.

          Example
Example For example, assume Data Cloud ingests information about your contacts from the Contact object in your Salesforce org. Your contact records and related records, such as engagement records, are then processed by identity resolution and included in unified profiles. An system admin creates an enriched related list on the Contact object that shows all the engagement data from the unified profile for each contact. The admin wants to let users see the enriched related list data without letting them access Data Cloud or view unified profiles directly. In this scenario, the admin can give Controlled by Parent access to users who have permission to view Contact object records to allow them to also view the enriched related list.
