          Data Extensions

          Data Extensions

Data Extension is a table within the application database that contains your data. You can use the data to run queries, pull information, and send to a subset of subscribers. Data extensions can be used in Marketing Cloud Engagement connector. Import Engagement Data Extensions into Data 360 using our Engagement connector.

          Note
          Note

Beginning February 14, 2023, Customer Data Platform is changing its name. During this transition, you can possibly see references to Customer Data Cloud, Data Cloud, Customer Data Platform, Customer 360 Audiences, and Salesforce CDP. We wish we could magically update the name everywhere, but you can expect to see the previous name in a few places as we evolve.

Data Extensions can belong to one business unit or multiple business units. Data Extensions that belong to multiple business units are called Shared Data Extensions.

To view a data extension, select an associated business unit in the context filter dropdown. The displayed cascaded folder hierarchy is specific to the selected business unit. Navigate through the folder structure until you locate the data extension. You can request that the data extension moves from Engagement into Data 360 on a schedule. You can request only one data extension at a time. Data Extension date field types display in YYYY-MM-DD format in Data 360.

          Note
Note Once the Engagement Data Extension is configured in Data 360, don’t change the schema. Schema changes aren’t currently supported by Data 360.
