          Note

As of October 14, 2025, Data Cloud has been rebranded to Data 360. During this transition, you may see references to Data Cloud in our application and documentation. While the name is new, the functionality and content remains unchanged.

Here are some benefits of planning and developing a governance and security strategy.

          • Earn and keep customer trust. Adopting data ethics and privacy best practices makes sure that your customers feel confident sharing their information with you.
          • Follow regulatory compliance. Built-in tools help you meet strict privacy laws and industry regulations by managing consent and honoring data rights.
          • Safely power AI. Strong data governance ensures that AI agents provide accurate, context-aware answers without exposing underlying personally identifiable information (PII) to unauthorized users.
          • Scale securely. By implementing automated, policy-driven governance, you guarantee that the right users have access to the exact right data at scale, reducing the risk of unauthorized access or data leaks.
          • About Data Spaces
A data space is a logical partition to organize your data for profile unification, insights, and marketing in Data 360. You can segregate your data, metadata, and processes into categories, such as brand, region, or department, and then enable users to see and work on data only in the context of their category. You can also merge and analyze data in data spaces.
          • Data Governance in Data 360
Data governance provides a robust framework for securing and managing data through the combined use of tags, classifications, user attributes, and policy-based governance. Enabling policies and other governance features improves control and ensures users have access to the right data at scale.
          • Platform Encryption for Data 360
Some customers require tenant-specific encryption keys, control over key material, or improved key visibility for auditing and compliance reporting. Platform Encryption for Data 360 extends Data 360’s robust security services by adding options for encryption key control and visibility.
          • Ethics, Privacy, and Consent
Understand the concept of ethical data use and learn how to incorporate data ethics into your Data 360 implementation. Learn about how to protect your consumer’s privacy, data rights, and manage consent.
