          Data Kits

A data kit wraps around all the packageable Data 360 metadata so that you can create and deploy complete solutions on Data 360.

          Types of Data Kits

Data 360 provides two types of data kits to deploy your metadata and process definitions. Choosing the right data kit depends on your use case and deployment environment. Use the guidelines to determine the best option for your needs.

          Standard Data Kit
Create a standard data kit to package and share your Data 360 features and solutions with customers. You can create the data kit from the default data space and deploy it to any data space in the target org. With a standard data kit, you can distribute Data 360 solutions tailored to your customers' needs.
          DevOps Data Kit
Use a DevOps data kit to migrate Data 360 metadata from a sandbox org to a production org, but not to package Data 360 metadata. You can create the DevOps data kit from any data space, but you must deploy it to the same data space in the target org. With DevOps data kit, you can maintain consistency in your metadata management processes.

Creating a standard data kit involves these steps.

          • Create a data stream to package in the data kit.
          • Create a data kit from Data 360.
          • Select and add the data streams and data stream definitions in the data kit package.
          • Define the deployment sequence for data kit components.
          • Upload the data kit package in Data 360.
          • Publish the data kit in Package Manager.
          • Create a package in Package Manager with the data kit.
          • Install the created package in a Salesforce org.

After you deploy the packaged data stream, the relationships included in the package are mapped automatically.
