          Data Shares

          Data Shares

Data Shares provide easy access for external systems to use data in Data 360. With access to data lake objects (DLOs), data model objects (DMOs), and calculated insight objects (CIOs), you can build powerful analytical insights and machine learning models. Zero copy data sharing with data shares lets you share Data 360 objects without loading the data into an external system and gives you near real-time access to data.

Combine Data 360 objects in a data share and then connect to an external system through a data share target. A data share target sets up connectivity with an external system.

          Important
          Important
          • Data shares don't honor the data governance policies enforced by Data 360. Apply those policies at the data share target.
          • Admins or privileged users in the receiving organization other than Salesforce Data 360 can view and query all records of the data lake objects (DLOs) mapped to data model objects (DMOs) in the data share. This depends on the security construct defined at the external system.
          • Manage Data Shares
Create, edit, clone, or delete data shares in Data 360. You can also link or unlink a data share to a data share target.
          • Share Data with Snowflake
To access Data 360 data, create a data share that contains Data 360 objects. You can access Data 360 objects as views in a Snowflake account. When data is available in Snowflake, you can work on harmonized and unified data.
          • Share Data with Google BigQuery
You can access Data 360 objects as datasets in Google BigQuery by creating a data share. Zero copy integration allows data to be directly shared and queried without copying it into Google BigQuery. When data is accessible in Google BigQuery, you can work with harmonized and unified data from Data 360. Sharing data involves these high-level steps.
          • Share Data with Amazon SageMaker
Amazon SageMaker includes AWS Glue Data Catalog Views, AWS Lake Formation, and AWS engines to run queries using Amazon Redshift, Athena, or Elastic MapReduce (EMR). Share Data 360 objects, such as data lake objects, data model objects, and calculated insights objects, with an Amazon Redshift account using a data share.
          • Share Data with Databricks
Share Data 360 objects with a Databricks account using a data share. Link the data share to a Databricks data share target to make the Data 360 objects available to the Databricks account.
          • Share Data with Databricks Using Query Federation
Securely share Data 360 data with Databricks without migrating your data from Data 360 to Databricks by running federated queries using Zero Copy Data Federation. You can access your data lake, data model, and calculated insight objects in your workspace using the Unity Catalog in Databricks.
          • Share Data Between Data 360 Orgs
Share Data 360 objects, such as data lake objects (DLOs), data model objects (DMOs), and calculated insights objects (CIOs), between Data 360 instances in different regions or with other Data 360 orgs using a data share. You can also share external accelerated DLOs between Data 360 orgs.
