Data Builds the Foundation for Marketing
Data 360 works together with Marketing Cloud Next to help marketers build and optimize marketing campaigns with personalization, AI, and data-driven insights.
About Marketing Cloud Next
Marketing Cloud Next brings the power of the platform to your team’s marketing efforts. You can integrate multiple data sources with Data 360, build content with Experience Cloud, power complex customer journeys with Flow Builder, and optimize with Agentforce along the way.
Working Together
Marketing Cloud Next relies on Data 360 for certain functionality, such as segmentation. Although a marketer can accomplish their tasks in the Marketing app, some admin and data tasks require visiting the Data 360 app to complete.
By default, the Marketing app includes these Data 360 tabs.
- Identity Resolutions–Admins use identity resolution to build rulesets that dictate how incoming data is unified for marketing use.
- Segments–Marketers use segments to identify target audiences for marketing campaigns.
- Profile Explorer–Marketers use Profile Explorer to review how data relates to unified account and unified individual records.
For other data tasks, visit the Data 360 app or ask an admin to add the tabs to the Marketing app. These Data 360 tabs are useful for a marketing admin.
- Data Streams–During setup, an admin deploys data streams that connect Marketing Cloud Next with Salesforce CRM and other connected apps.
- Data Graphs–An admin can configure data graphs that provides the customer and product data used in basic content personalization.
- Data Lake Objects and Data Model Objects–A data analyst reviews and configures object fields and mappings that store ingested data.
- Data Model–A data analyst creates custom objects and builds or reviews object relationships.
Considerations
Before you enable or use Marketing Cloud Next, review these considerations.
- Some marketing tasks, such as data ingestion, segmentation, and sending test emails, use consumption-based pricing. Agentforce features also consume credits.
- A default data space is created when you first enable Marketing Cloud Next. Most marketing features are preconfigured to work with this data space. When using a custom data space, marketing users must remember to select the correct data space during certain tasks.
- To ingest and map data for Marketing Cloud Next, use a unique identifier that relates to a primary key in each DMO or source table. For example, to map people data from CRM, map Lead ID to Individual ID.
- If you use Data 360with Marketing Cloud Engagement, we recommend that you select Subscriber ID as the primary key for people data.
