Step 1: Connect Google Analytics Data to Google BigQuery

Start by connecting the Google Analytics Connector to Google BigQuery.

          1. Set up BigQuery Export in Google APIs Console (Google Analytics Administrator—5 minutes).
          2. Link BigQuery to Google Analytics in Google Analytics (Google Analytics Administrator—5 minutes).

Step 2: Link Salesforce Data with Google Analytics

Linking Salesforce data with Google Analytics data ensures that you have access to the most up-to-date information. To link this data, create a connection to link Google Analytics data to the CRM Analytics Data Manager.

          1. To sync Google Analytics data to CRM Analytics in CRM Analytics Data Manager, create a Google Analytics 4 Connection in CRM Analytics (System Admin or Data Cloud Architect-5 minutes).
          2. Filter out data activity for authenticated users that is ingested into Data 360 with the Measurement Protocol User-ID (UID) integration method. From the Google page, Measurement Protocol (Google Analytics 4) learn how to use measurement protocols to record events to Google Analytics for use in reports.
          3. Set up User-ID and then implement it in your tracking code in Google Analytics (Google Analytics Editor—5 minutes).

Step 3: Set Up the Google Cloud Storage Connection

Now connect Google Cloud Storage to Data 360.

Set Up a Google Cloud Storage Connection in Data 360 (Data Cloud Architect—5 minutes).

Step 4: Import Data from Google Cloud Storage

Ingest and map data into Data 360.

          1. Create a Google Cloud Storage Data Stream in Data 360 (Data Cloud Architect—5 minutes).
          2. Map the fields to a data model object (DMO) in Data 360 (Data Cloud Architect—5 minutes).
          Note
Note  If you’re bringing custom attributes into Data 360 from Google Analytics, create custom DMOs to support those attributes. See Create a Custom Data Model Object from an Existing Data Model Object in Salesforce Help.

Step 5: Schedule Recurring Queries in Google BigQuery

After you bring data from Google Analytics to Salesforce Data 360, we recommend scheduling queries in BigQuery to bring only incremental data into Data 360.

Link BigQuery to Google Analytics in Google Analytics (Google Analytics Administrator—5 minutes).

          Considerations

          • When you create or update a query schedule, the scheduled time for the query is converted from your local time to UTC. Your query’s schedule is still shown in your local time zone.
          • The Google Cloud console doesn’t support changing the credentials used in a scheduled query to a service account.
          • Cross-region queries aren’t supported.
