Increase Segment Refresh from Data 360 to the Activation Targets
Increase the frequency of segment refresh and shorten publishing time for activations from Data 360 to the activation targets using Rapid Publish. When you create a segment, choose Rapid Publish to run on a daily schedule at a 1-hour or 4-hour interval.
Segments using rapid publish are prioritized in the publish queue. You can configure lookback window for both publish types. After you create a segment, you can't change a standard publish to a rapid publish. Then activate to Marketing Cloud Engagement, Data Cloud, or file storage targets like Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, SFTP, and Google Cloud Storage (GCS). You can create up to 20 segments with Rapid Publish.
You can use Rapid Publish in Incremental Refresh mode. For more information, see Activation Refresh Types.
Standard and rapid segments activate as data extensions in Marketing Cloud Engagement. Incremental Rapid Activations index based on the profile ID mapped to the subscriber key.
A financial services company creates a standard segment targeting customers who viewed a loan product page in the last 30 days. They select rapid publish, set a 30-day lookback window, and configure a 1-hour interval running Monday through Friday so activation data reaches their marketing team throughout the business day.
