          Segment On

          Segment On

Segment On defines the target object used to build your segment. You can choose an object marked as Profile or Engagement type during ingestion. For example, you can build a segment on Unified Individual, Unified Household, Account, Reservations, Sales Order, etc.

The target object chosen determines which attributes are available in the attribute library that you can use as segment filters.

          Unified Individual or Individual

To take advantage of Identity Resolution, use the Unified Individual as your segment target. With Identity Resolution, you can segment on profile, behavioral, and transactional data from disparate data sources as one Unified Individual.

If you have data from multiple data sources in Data 360, Identity Resolution and segmenting on the Unified Individual is recommended. If you aren’t using Identity Resolution, use Individual as your segment target.

You can consolidate Unified Individuals into groups of individuals called households. Segment on Unified Household to identify households with specific criteria.

          Note
Note Segmenting on the Individual instead of the Unified Individual can result in duplicate or skipped entities in your count.
