Find Data Cloud Segments in Marketing Cloud Engagement

Find Data Cloud Segments in Marketing Cloud Engagement

After you create and activate segments to Marketing Cloud Engagement, view them in Contact Builder. A Data 360 segments subfolder is created when you publish your first activation.

You can access the Engagement folders only in the Business Unit (BU) that your Engagement user is associated with. In Engagement, you can see the Data 360 segments for that BU in Contact Builder.

          1. In Marketing Cloud, click Contact Builder.
          2. Click Data Extensions.
            1. Click Shared Items.
            2. Click Shared Data Extensions.
            3. Click Customer 360 Segments.

If a segment is activated to more than one BU, the activated segments are created as a shared data extension in the Data 360 subfolder. Shared data extension has the naming format segmentName_activationName_segmentID_activationID. For the activation target, the shared data extension folder is based on the selected BUs. Child business units (MID) provide permission to the parent business unit (EID) by default. Any shared data extensions created on the MID can be accessed by the EID. If there are multiple MIDs, shared data extensions created on a specific MID can’t be accessed by users of other MIDs.

If the number of individuals in your Engagement segment is lower than the segment population in Data 360, try troubleshooting with tips from this knowledge article: Data 360 segment counts do not match activation counts for a Marketing Cloud activation target.
