          Add Filters to a Calculated Field

          Filters let you choose which data can be in the formula expression. Filters help you increase the accuracy of your measures.

          Required Editions

          Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.
          User Permissions Needed
          To add a filter to a field:

          Permission set:

          • Data Cloud Architect

          AND

          Semantic Models object

          1. In Data Cloud, on the Semantic Layer tab, select a data model.
          2. Open the New Calculated Field window or Edit Calculated Field window:
            1. From the New dropdown, select Calculated Field. Or,
            2. Select a calculated field in the left pane.
          3. In the calculated field window, click Filters. The Add Filter window appears.

          4. Select a field.
          5. Select an operator. For more information, see Add Filters to a Calculated Field.
          6. Enter a value.
          7. To add more filters, click Add Condition.
            1. If you have more than one filter, you can modify the logical expression that defines how the filter conditions are combined.
            2. Click the pencil icon under Add Filter Logic and enter an expression. Use numbers, parentheses, AND, OR, and NOT
            3. Click Apply.

          8. Click Save for the filter.
          9. Click Save for the calculated field.

          Examples:

          • 1 AND NOT 2
          • (1 OR 2) AND 3
          • ((1 AND 2) OR (3 AND 4))
          • (1 OR (NOT 2)) AND (3 OR 4)
          • Filter Operators
            Filter operators are used when creating filters in calculated fields.
