Ingest Lead Ad Data into Data Cloud
Set up the Lead Capture app to pull leads from Meta (formerly known as Facebook) into Sales Cloud, connect Sales Cloud to Data Cloud, and receive leads into a data lake object (DLO). Having lead information in Data Cloud can help with event orchestration, activation to ad networks, and lead scoring.

Step 1: Install Lead Capture for Salesforce
To use this solution, you must have the Lead Capture app installed. To install and configure Lead Capture, complete the following steps.
- Review the implementation guide and user guide before installation that's available on AppExchange (Admin—15 minutes)
- Configure Lead Capture Cloud available on AppExchange (Admin—10 minutes).
- Confirm leads are received from Meta into the Lead Object in Salesforce (Admin—2 minutes).
Step 2: Create a Salesforce CRM Data Stream
To create a Salesforce CRM data stream in Data Cloud, you must first connect your Salesforce account. Then, create a Salesforce CRM data stream based on a Lead Object.
- Set Up the Salesforce CRM Connection in Data Cloud (Data Cloud Architect Permission Set—2 minutes).
- Create a Salesforce CRM Data Stream in Data Cloud (Data Cloud Architect Permission Set—2 minutes).
Step 3: Map Data Stream to DMO
Customize where the data streams are mapped to. When the Salesforce connector is set up, a Lead DMO is created automatically.
- Create a Custom Data Model Object from an Existing Data Model Object in Data Cloud (Data Cloud Architect Permission Set—5 minutes).

Step 4: Confirm Leads Route from Meta into Data Cloud DMO
Meta provides a tool for creating test leads to simulate an end user creating a lead, which shows the flow of data you’ve set up in Salesforce and Data Cloud.
- Testing and Troubleshooting—Create a Custom Data Model Object from an Existing Data Model Object in Data Cloud (5 minutes).
- Check in the Lead Object with the name: <test lead: dummy data for full_name> (Admin—5 minutes).
- Go to Data Cloud and click Data Explorer. Find your leads instance in the dropdown menu. Learn about how to View Your Data in Data Explorer (Data Cloud Architect Permission Set).
