Unify Service Data with Identity Resolution

Unify Service Data with Identity Resolution

Link multiple sources of data into a unified profile using an identity resolution ruleset. A ruleset contains match and reconciliation rules based on the Account data model object or the Individual data model object.

          Create an Identity Resolution Ruleset

Configure a ruleset to create a unified profile based on multiple sources of data. First you create your ruleset.

          1. In Data Cloud on the Identity Resolutions tab, click New.
          2. For the primary data object, select Individual.
If you don’t see any objects available to select, make sure your data is modeled properly.
          3. Leave the ruleset ID blank and click Next.
          4. Name your ruleset and add an optional description.
          5. Disable Run jobs automatically.
          6. Click Save.

          Add Match Rules

Match rules identify what data is reviewed and used for matching. For this guide, we select all the default matching rules.

          1. In the Match Rules section of the ruleset’s home page, click Configure.
          2. Select Fuzzy Name and Normalized Email and click Next.
          3. Keep the settings and click Next.
          4. Click Add Match Rule.
          5. Select Fuzzy Name and Normalized Phone and click Next.
          6. Keep the settings and click Next.
          7. Click Save.

          Set Reconciliation Rules

While match rules are used to link together data into a unified customer profile, reconciliation rules determine the logic for data selection. Let's set the default reconciliation rules.

          1. In the Reconciliation Rules section, select the Individual object.
          2. Set the default rule (1) to Most Frequent.
          3. Click Save.
          4. To run the ruleset manually, on the ruleset’s record page go to the Processing History tab.
          5. Verify that Automatic Runs are disabled. If automatic runs aren’t disabled, click Edit and disable.
          6. Click Run Ruleset.
          Note
Note Read more about the Identity Resolution Summary and Identity Resolution Reconciliation Rules. You can also take the Data and Identity Trailhead Module for a deeper dive.

When the run finishes, review the Resolution Summary to determine how successfully profiles were unified. The higher the consolidation percentage, the more successful your ruleset was at combining individual records into unified individual profiles based on the ruleset’s match and reconciliation rules.

          3. From the search results, select a profile to explore.
          Note
Note You can’t configure the Unified Profile Insights app until after you’ve created at least one calculated insight. Learn more about Profile Explorer in Data Cloud.
