            Chatter Desktop

            Chatter Desktop is a free desktop application that lets you collaborate in Chatter without a browser. Chatter Desktop was retired in June 2018.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
            Available in: Group, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, Developer, and Contact Manager Editions

            Use Chatter Desktop to post and comment in Chatter, and receive updates about your groups and the people, records, and files that you follow. Chatter Desktop also supports chat and private Chatter messages. It displays Chatter updates and private messages as popup notifications in your Windows taskbar or Mac OS X Dock.

            Note
            Note Customer users can install and use Chatter Desktop but can’t access all its functionality. For example, customer users can’t follow users or records, chat, or access administration options.
