Work with Chatter Feeds

Stay up-to-date on the posts and comments that you and other people make in Chatter, and the record changes across your Salesforce org.

Note Beginning in Summer ’26, Chatter is turned off by default in all new orgs. For any features in these orgs that require access to Chatter functionality or the Chatter APIs, turn on Chatter by going to Setup | Chatter Settings and selecting Enable. For details, see Chatter Is Turned Off by Default in New Orgs Beginning in Summer ’26.

• Chatter Feeds Overview
  Follow people and records to see updates about them in Chatter. Updates appear in feeds on profiles, groups, the Chatter tab, topic detail pages, and on record detail pages.

  Change your Chatter feed to show a subset of posts.

  In your Chatter feeds, use the filter and sort options to see updates that are relevant to you.

  Use bookmarks to track Chatter posts that you’re interested in.
• Create a Task from a Chatter Post
  Read a Chatter post that you want to follow up on? In Salesforce Classic, use the Create New Task action to create a task directly from the post.
• View Recommendations That Are Tailored to You
  Chatter provides recommendations to help you identify the people, groups, files, and records that closely relate to your job and interests.
• Searching in Chatter Feeds
  Quickly find information in posts and comments across Chatter.
• Chatter Favorites Overview
  In Salesforce Classic, Chatter favorites give you easy access to list views, Chatter feed searches, and topics that you want to stay on top of. You can find Chatter favorites on the Chatter tab.
