Topic Detail Pages
Topic detail pages show a topic's description and a feed with topic updates from all users and public groups. You can also see a list of records that refer to the topic.

To open a topic detail page, click a topic or hashtag. On the topic detail page, you can:
- Search a topic feed to quickly find relevant information. You can also scan the feed to learn about the topic and see the people and public groups that are interested in it.
- See all the records that refer to the topics. Use the Related tab in Lightning Experience. In Salesforce Classic, if Chatter is enabled, use the Records tab.
- To see updates to the topic in your feed, follow the topic.
- Edit the topic name and description. You can change only the capitalization and spacing of
topic names.
Note Topic names and descriptions aren’t private, even for topics that appear solely in private groups and on records. Posts and records that use topics have the same security and privacy as the posts and records that don’t use them. - Add a post directly to the topic feed in Salesforce Classic. Your followers automatically see the post, and you can even add the post to a group that you’re a member of by using an @mention. Because you added the post on the topic feed, the topic is automatically added to your post.
- Discover interesting topic metrics. If you’re using Lightning Experience, you can see the
number of:
- People following the topic
- Posts that use the topic
Note The number of posts that use the topic can be inaccurate but provides a good comparative measure of how often people use the topic in posts. - People who used the topic in the last 60 days
- If available, find out more about a topic using these lists.
- Knowledgeable People—People who are knowledgeable about the topic.
- Related Topics—Other topics that were also added with the current topic.
- Recent Files—Files that you have access to that were most recently posted to the topic feed.
- Groups Talking—Public groups and groups that you're a member of that used the topic most recently.
