Topics List

To view the topics list, on the left side of the Chatter page, click Topics.

In the topics list, you can:

• To see a topic’s detail page, click the topic name.
• To see updates in your Chatter feed, click Follow.
• To narrow what you’re looking for, filter the list of topics.
• Search for topics by name.
  

  Tip To search topic names and descriptions, use global search.
• Only users with the View All Data permission can filter by record name.

This topics list isn’t available in Lightning Experience. However, in Lightning Experience, you can add topics to records and then filter your record list views by topics.

• Sort the Topics List with Filters
  Use topic filters to narrow the topics list to your favorite topics or the topics that you use. Use sorting options to sort the topics by the number of people talking about them or alphabetically by name.
• Topic Detail Pages
  Topic detail pages show a topic's description and a feed with topic updates from all users and public groups. You can also see a list of records that refer to the topic.
• Follow Topics
  Follow topics so you can see updates in your Chatter feed.
• Find and Endorse People Who Are Knowledgeable About a Topic
  Discover experts and recognize them in Chatter using the Knowledgeable People section of topic pages and the Overview tab of user profile pages.
• Add Topics to Chatter Posts
  Add topics to Chatter posts and comments to make it possible to search for all the items that touch on that topic. You can add topics to any posts at any time directly in the feed.
• Add Hashtag Topics to Chatter Posts and Comments
  To organize Chatter posts and comments and make them easy to find, add topics.
• Add Topics to Files
  Topics make it possible to search for all the items that touch on a given topic. Topics added to Chatter posts are also added to any files in the post or its comments. When you search for those topics, the files are included in the results.
• Remove Topics from Chatter Posts
  If a topic no longer applies to a Chatter post, you can remove it.
• View the Topics That People Are Talking About
  The topics you’re talking about appear in your Chatter profile in the Recently Talked About section.
• View the Topics That Groups Are Talking About
  The topics that a Chatter group is talking about appear on the group detail page in the Recently Talked About section.
• Trending Topics
  The Trending Topics area on the Chatter tab shows the topics that are being discussed right now in Chatter.
• Topics in Mobile
  Topics are available in Salesforce for Android and Salesforce for iOS, but there are some differences in mobile applications.
