Moderate Flagged Items in Your Experience Cloud Site

Moderate Flagged Items in Your Experience Cloud Site

Moderators can review and act on flagged items in their Experience Cloud sites.

If you haven’t already, install the Salesforce Communities Management (for Communities with Chatter) package from AppExchange. This package automatically installs multiple insight reports that you can use to moderate your site, such as the Flagged Private Messages and Flagged Files reports. It also automatically installs the Flagged Discussions and Flagged Direct Messages tiles to the Moderation tile in Experience Workspaces.

A small orange flag appears next to flagged items. The number next to the flag indicates how many people have flagged the item.

A few things to keep in mind.

          • Moderators can only moderate items that they have access to.
          • Group owners or managers can moderate items in their groups.
          • Members can only flag messages sent from sites that they’re a member and that allow members to flag content.
          • You can’t flag items from your internal org, the Salesforce mobile app, or in partner and customer portals.
          • Site members can only flag items if the Allow members to flag content preference is enabled.
          • If Allow members to flag content is disabled, only moderators can flag items and view flagged items.
          • To receive an email each time an item is flagged, select Flags an item as inappropriate on your Email Settings page.

          Important

Ensure that your moderators are assigned the Moderate Experiences Chatter Messages permission, not the Manage Chatter Messages permission. The Manage Chatter Messages permission allows users to see all the messages in your entire Salesforce org.

You can monitor and manage flagged messages from:

          • The Flagged Private Messages Insights report from the Moderation Overview page in Experience Workspaces. You can track trends and monitor spam. You can view flagged messages, who sent them, the date they were sent, and who flagged them. You can also remove flags from messages and delete messages.
          • A custom report.
First, create a custom report type using Networks as the primary object and Network Audits as the secondary object. Create the report using your new custom report type and add a field filter for Audited Object Type set to equal Chatter Message. Use the API to delete flagged messages.
          • An API query of flagged messages.

          Flagged Direct Messages

          Note
Note Private messages and direct messages are separate features. Direct messages offer a richer set of features for private communication. Direct messages are based on Chatter and offer a rich text editor that supports inline images and attachments. With direct messages, you can start a message from a feed post.
          1. Open Experience Workspaces.
          2. Select Moderation and either click the Flagged Direct Messages tile or click Moderate | Flagged Messages to see the flagged items.
          3. Review and act on the flagged messages.

You can remove the flag or delete the file. You can also select multiple items at once.
