          Customize the Passwordless Registration Welcome Email Template

          If you use passwordless registration for your Experience Cloud site, users receive a welcome email containing a one-time password (OTP) when they sign up. To tailor this email for your company’s brand, use a custom email template.

          Required Editions

          Available in: both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
          Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
          User Permissions Needed
          To customize or publish an Experience Cloud site:
          • Create and Set Up Experiences AND View Setup and Configuration AND be a member of the site

            OR

          • View Setup and Configuration AND be a member of the site AND have appropriate role-based site access

          These steps show you how to configure and customize the Experience Cloud: New Member Welcome Email - Passwordless Registration email template, which is a Classic email template that's tailored for this use case. Alternatively, you can create your own Classic email template from scratch and configure it in your Experience Cloud settings for Welcome New Member for Passwordless Registration. The Visualforce email template type isn't supported for passwordless registration—you can use only the Text, HTML with Classic Letterhead, and Custom HTML types. For more information on creating Classic email templates, see Email Templates in Salesforce Classic in Salesforce Help. Lightning email templates aren't supported for passwordless registration.

          Note If you create your own Classic email template from scratch, make sure that you use the {!Verification_Code} merge field.

          For the Experience Cloud: New Member Welcome Email - Passwordless Registration email template, use these Network Member merge fields. This template doesn't support any other merge fields.

          • {!Pwdless_New_User.FirstName}—Passwordless Registration User First Name
          • {!Pwdless_New_User.LastName}—Passwordless Registration User Last Name
          • {!Pwdless_New_User.Username}—Passwordless Registration User Username
          • {!Pwdless_New_User.Email}—Passwordless Registration User Email Address
          • {!Pwdless_New_User.Phone}—Passwordless Registration User Phone Number
          • {!Verification_Code}—Verification Code
          1. Add the New Member Welcome Email - Passwordless Registration email template to your Experience Cloud settings.
            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Sites, and then select All Sites.
            2. Next to your Experience Cloud site, click Workspaces.
            3. Select Administration, and then select Emails.
            4. Under Email Templates, next to Welcome New Member for Passwordless Registration, click lookup magnifying glass, and then select Experience Cloud: New Member Welcome Email - Passwordless Registration.
            5. Save your changes.
          2. To customize the email, edit the template.
            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Email Templates, and then select Classic Email Templates.
            2. Next to Experience Cloud: New Member Welcome Email - Passwordless Registration, click Edit.
              Note
              Note In orgs created after Summer ’24, the email template unique name is CommunityPasswordlessRegistrationEmailTemplate. In orgs created before Summer ’24, the unique name is CPasswordlessRegistrationEmailTemplate.
            3. Edit the default text in the email body.
            4. To add more fields to the email, copy merge field values into the template. Under Available Merge Fields, select Network Member for field type. Use the Passwordless Registration merge fields.
              Important
              Important Don’t remove {!Verification_Code}.
            5. Save your changes.
