regenerate, recalculate, or roll over forecasts. Clone and use the default templates, or
customize them to suit your needs. Customize these templates to include custom dimensions, such
as region, or custom measures such as quarter-on-quarter revenue growth. You can also modify the

Important The updated Data Processing Engine (DPE) templates
in Spring ’23 use the Advanced Account Forecast Set Use object instead of the Advanced Account
Forecast Set Partner object to manage the forecast fact data. If you used the templates to
create DPE definitions before Spring ’23, we recommend that you create definitions by using
the updated templates or modify your existing definitions based on the updated
templates.
Data Processing Engine Job
Purpose
Generate Account Forecast
Use this definition to generate forecasts for the first time for a forecast set and
for new accounts.
This DPE definition aggregates the quantity and revenue data for an account and a
forecast set from active orders, opportunities, and sales agreements. Then, it
generates forecasts with the dimensions and frequency defined in the forecast
set.
Recalculate Account Forecast
Use this definition to recalculate forecasts when you change sales agreements or
opportunities. For example, when you add products or remove existing products.
This DPE definition aggregates the quantity and revenue data to recalculate
existing forecasts for an account and a forecast set. When you use the definition,
the existing forecast data expires. The definition then recalculates the existing
forecast data, and then recalculates forecasts based on the updated sales
agreements, opportunities, or other records.
Regenerate Account Forecast
Use this definition to regenerate forecasts for your accounts when you change the
frequency, dimensions, or start period of the forecast set.
This DPE definition aggregates the quantity and revenue data to regenerate
forecasts for an account and a forecast set. When you use the definition, the
existing forecast data for one or multiple accounts expires. The definition then
regenerates forecasts based on the updated forecast set configurations.
Rollover Account Forecast
Use this definition along with the Recalculate Account Forecast definition to
generate forecast data for new periods during rollover and recalculate the existing
forecast data.
This DPE definition aggregates the quantity and revenue data for an account and a
forecast set from orders, opportunities, and sales agreements for new periods during
rollover. It generates forecasts for the new periods that get added to the forecast
display at the end of each period. It invalidates the forecasts for the oldest
period.
