Create Approval Steps with Queues
Define the chain of approval for the Document Checklist Item object using queues.

You’ve already created an approval process for your document checklist items.
Note Approval Processes aren’t available in Professional Edition.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, Approval Processes, then select Approval Processes.
- In Manage Approval Processes For, select Document Checklist Item.
- Under Inactive Approval Processes, click the approval process you created for document checklist items.
- Under Approval Steps, click New Approval Step.

Specify your step criteria.
- If you want all records to use this step, select All records should enter this step.
- If you want only specified records to use this step, select Enter this step if the following. Then define your criteria and select what happens if the record doesn’t meet the criteria.
- Click Next.
- Under Select Approver, select Automatically assign to queue and select the queue you want to assign the step to.
- If you want an approver to be able to delegate their approval, select The approver’s delegate may also approve this request.

Under Reject Behavior, specify what to do if the approver rejects
the item at this step.
- If you want a rejection to end the approval process, select Perform all rejection actions for this step AND all final rejection actions.
- If you only want the rejection actions for this step to be performed, select Perform ONLY the rejection actions for this step and send the approval request back to the most recent approver.
- Click Save.
- On the What Would You Like To Do Now? page, select No, I’ll do this later and click Go.
- Under Approval Steps, click Show Actions next to the approval step you created.
