Automotive Cloud Telematics Data Model Objects
Automotive telematics data model objects help you analyze the data related to a driver’s behavior patterns, a vehicle’s performance, and the types of events and issues encountered during trips. The Salesforce Standard Data Model SSOT package contains telematics data model objects that automotive companies can use if they have Automotive Cloud and Data Cloud enabled in their org.

Create a data stream to ingest the sensor data of assets and vehicles from external telematics service companies into Data Cloud. The data ingested by all data streams is written to data lake objects (DLOs). You can then map the data lake objects to the predefined data model objects to organize the unrefined data. You don’t need to store this high-volume data in your CRM org. You can keep refreshing this data in Data Cloud in near real-time, and create critical insights around driver performance and vehicle health. The insights help you make data-driven decisions and create personalized and targeted customer services.
You can use the telematics data model objects for these use cases.
- Monitor driver safety by looking at metrics such as braking style, collision count, and speed type. You can aggregate the information to create reports and insights.
- Monitor fleet metrics such as the number of times a driver crosses a geofence, or the number of violations committed by a driver. You can make data-driven decisions to create or update their subscriptions, lease terms, and fines.
- Monitor critical health metrics for all vehicles that you own, such as fuel efficiency, engine performance, and number of fault events. You can trigger the workflows that take immediate actions on events such as engine failures and transmission issues.
- Monitor trip metrics such as fuel consumption and idle duration for commercial vehicles. You can build recommendations for drivers that help them optimize the trip performance.
- Asset Operation Data Model Object
Use the Asset Operation telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store the data related to the operation cycle of an asset. To bring in the data related to assets such as machines, charging stations, and trailers, use this object to represent the details of an operation cycle of the asset. If you bring in the data related to vehicles, use the Vehicle Trip object to store the data about the single run of a vehicle. - Asset Operation Operator Behavior Data Model Object
Use the Asset Operation Operator Behavior telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store the data about an operator’s performance during a single run of an asset. To bring in the data related to assets such as heavy machinery, charging stations, or trailers, use this object to represent the performance of the asset operator for each shift. If you bring in the data related to vehicles, use the Vehicle Trip Driver Performance object to store the data about the performance of a driver during a single vehicle trip. - Asset Performance Summary Data Model Object
Use the Asset Performance Summary telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store the data about an asset’s performance over a period. To bring in the data related to assets such as heavy machinery, charging stations, or trailers, use this object to represent the performance summary of the asset. If you bring in the data related to vehicles, use the Vehicle Performance Summary object to store the data about the performance of a vehicle. - Asset Telematics Event Data Model Object
Use the Asset Telematics Event telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store data about the critical, non-critical, or actionable events triggered by sensors in an asset. If you ingest telematics information about vehicle performance and driver behavior, use this object in combination with the Vehicle Telematics Event object. You can apply transformations to the raw sensor data in Data Cloud and build actionable segments and insights that help you personalize the notifications, offers, and marketing journeys for the customer. - Asset Telematics Event Code Mapping Data Model Object
Use the Asset Telematics Event Code Mapping telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store data about the relationship between fault codesets and telematics events for an asset. Telematics events such as engine overheating, brake malfunctions, mechanical faults, and fuel leaks can be ingested and stored in Data Cloud to analyze the fault and the resolution, and to build diagnostic insights. Each event must be related to an existing fault codeset in the system that uniquely identifies the type of issue frequently encountered for assets. - Driver Performance Summary Data Model Object
Use the Driver Performance Summary telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store data about a vehicle driver’s performance over a period. In addition to the fields available on the Operator Performance object, this object contains vehicle-specific fields such as distance traveled, brake event count, and fuel consumed. - Operator Performance Summary Data Model Object
Use the Operator Performance Summary telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store data about an operator’s performance over a period. To bring in the data related to assets such as heavy machinery, charging stations, and trailers, use this object to represent the operator’s performance summary. - Telematics Provider Data Model Object
Use the Telematics Provider data model object to store data about the telematics services company that generates and communicates vehicle and asset sensor data to Salesforce. - Vehicle Performance Summary Data Model Object
Use the Vehicle Performance Summary telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store data about a vehicle’s performance over a period. In addition to the fields available on the Asset Performance object, the Vehicle Performance Summary telematics data model object contains vehicle-specific fields such as fuel efficiency, braking efficiency, and distance traveled. - Vehicle Telematics Event Data Model Object
Use the Vehicle Telematics Event telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store data about the critical, non-critical, or actionable events triggered by sensors in a vehicle. In addition to the fields available on the Asset Telematics Event object, the Vehicle Telematics Event telematics data model object contains vehicle-specific fields such as odometer reading, cruise status, and ignition status. - Vehicle Trip Data Model Object
Use the Vehicle Trip telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store the data related to the single trip of a vehicle. In addition to the fields available on the Asset Operation object, the Vehicle Trip telematics data model object contains vehicle-specific fields such as longitude, latitude, odometer reading, and trip cost. - Vehicle Trip Driver Behavior Data Model Object
Use the Vehicle Trip Driver Behavior telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store data about a driver’s performance and behavior during the single trip of a vehicle. In addition to the fields available on the Asset Operation Operator Behavior object, the Vehicle Trip Driver Behavior telematics data model object contains vehicle-specific fields such as braking style, maximum speed, and vehicle trip ID. - Vehicle Telematics Event Code Mapping Data Model Object
Use the Vehicle Telematics Event Code Mapping telematics data model object in Data Cloud to store data about the relationship between fault codesets and telematics events for a vehicle. Ingest and store telematics events such as engine overheating, brake malfunctions, mechanical faults, or fuel leaks in Data Cloud to analyze the fault and the resolution, and to build diagnostic insights. Each event must be related to an existing fault codeset in the system that uniquely identifies the type of issue frequently encountered for vehicles.
