Set Up Data Cloud for Automotive Cloud

Connect Automotive Cloud with Data Cloud to unify and harmonize the data from your vehicles, assets, and customers, in real time. The Automotive data kit gives you a head start with predefined data streams and calculated insights. You can also ingest telematics data from your vehicles into Data Cloud by using data model objects that specifically store vehicle health and driver performance data. In Data Cloud, you can segment the data and create actionable insights that inform decisions around driver safety, personalized offers and subscriptions, and predictive services.

Important

Industry-specific features, managed, or unmanaged packages included in the Services may only be used by customers with an active subscription to the relevant industry services offering. Customer understands that the above limitation is contractual in nature (i.e., this limitation is not enforced in the Services as a technical matter) and therefore agrees to strictly review its Users' use of such subscriptions and enforce such limitation. SFDC may review Customer's use of such subscriptions at any time through the Services.

The access to the Automotive data kit, predefined calculated insights, data streams, and Automotive-specific data model objects in Data Cloud will be controlled contractually for the following SKUs.

• Configure Basic Settings for the Automotive Cloud Data Kit
  Before you use the Automotive Cloud data kit and the Automotive Cloud specific data model objects, complete the basic setup required to work in Data Cloud.
• Ingest External Automotive Data into Data Cloud
  To ingest vehicle and customer data into Data Cloud, connect your external data source to Data Cloud. For example, you can bring in data from your telematics providers to analyze vehicle health and monitor driver performance. You can also bring in data from dealer management systems and captive finance systems related to customer behavior, revenue and sales history, and financial information.
• Automotive Cloud Data Model Objects
  Get access to data model objects (DMOs) as part of the SSOT package that’s automatically installed in your org when you enable Automotive Cloud and Data Cloud. Whereas some data model objects are available only with Automotive Cloud enabled in the org, other objects in the SSOT package can also be used to model sales, service, and finance information for an automotive business.
• Automotive Cloud Telematics Data Model Objects
  Automotive telematics data model objects help you analyze the data related to a driver’s behavior patterns, a vehicle’s performance, and the types of events and issues encountered during trips. The Salesforce Standard Data Model SSOT package contains telematics data model objects that automotive companies can use if they have Automotive Cloud and Data Cloud enabled in their org.
• Automotive Data Kit
  The Automotive Cloud data kit gives you a head start with easy-to-use predefined calculated insights and data streams. Use the data streams in the data kit to bring in data from the Automotive app into Data Cloud. Harmonize, segment, and unify the data in Data Cloud so that you can build segments and calculated insights. Use the calculated insights in the data kit to get an aggregated view of customer and vehicle lifetime value, and customer satisfaction metrics. You can use the Automotive data kit as the starting point for your implementation of Data Cloud and then you can extend or customize the data streams and calculated insights as required.
• Create Your Own Automotive Data Kit
  You can create your own data kit and add data streams and calculated insights to it if you don’t want to use the predefined Automotive data kit. For example, you can create data streams to map the custom objects in Automotive Cloud that your company uses to the data model objects in Data Cloud, or you can create calculated insights based on your requirements. For such scenarios, create a data kit to add your own data streams and calculated insights.
• Data Streams and Calculated Insights in the Manufacturing Data Kit
  The Manufacturing data kit contains prebuilt data streams and calculated insights and can be used in the same way as the Automotive data kit. If your company tracks assets other than vehicles, you can use the Manufacturing data kit. Customize the data streams and calculated insights as per your requirements.
• Data Cloud Visualization in Automotive Cloud
  Drive data-driven decisions by helping your sales and service teams visualize the vehicle, asset, customer, and telematics data stored in Data Cloud. The predefined Data Cloud visualization flexcards show the data from the calculated insights and data model objects on record pages in the Automotive app. Get started by adding the predefined flexcards to the Vehicle, Asset, and Account record pages. You can also configure and customize other visualization flexcards to show data from any data model object or calculated insight of your choice. Extend the flexcards based on your implementation of Data Cloud and business needs.
• Additional Data Cloud Features in Automotive Cloud
  When you use Data Cloud with Automotive Cloud, you can transform external data, build segments and insights, and visualize the key performance metrics in your Salesforce CRM org. Help your sales and service teams easily explore driver performance data and monitor vehicle health, and act on real-time data all from the Automotive app.
• Create Data Cloud Enrichments in Automotive Cloud
  Leverage Data Cloud enrichments to integrate cleansed and harmonized data from various sources into your Salesforce CRM. Provide a more complete view of your customers. Enrich CRM records with key metrics like a customer's lifetime value from a calculated insights object, providing a holistic view of the customer's value to your organization. View a complete history of a vehicle or customer by adding related lists to a record page, such as a list of all vehicle telematics events associated with a specific car.
