          Create An Expression Set

          Create An Expression Set

Creating an expression set is a multistep process. When you create an expression set, the set's first version is created by default. Then, you configure the version and create variables and constants for inputs, outputs, and values that are used by and passed between the steps. Next, you add a logical sequence of steps that perform calculations or evaluate conditions using variables, constants, and decision matrices. After you create the flow, you simulate your expression set version with test values to verify that the set is working as expected, and then activate the expression set. To update an expression set version, save it as a version in a new expression set or as a new version within the existing expression set.

          • Create and Configure Your Expression Set Version
When you create an expression set, the first version is created automatically and suffixed with V1. An expression set version is a blank and usable version of your expression set. Configure variables and constants in your expression set and then create steps that call decision matrices or decision tables and perform calculations or evaluate conditions.
          • Simulate and Activate Your Expression Set Version
Before you activate your expression set, run simulations with default and custom test input variables. Different decision matrices or subexpression versions called in an expression set version can have different start date time and end date time values. Test different versions by changing the Effective Date value. If the expression set doesn't work as expected, edit the elements and resimulate. When you're satisfied, activate the expression set version. If the expression set version is related to a context definition, you can simulate it by using the context mappings available in the context definition.
          • Build Your Expression Set From a Template
To reuse or modify an expression set template’s components, save the template as an expression set or a version of an expression set. The template’s type determines whether you can save it as a new expression set or a version of an existing expression set.
