Master data is a combination of legacy data and manually entered and maintained new
data. Master data is the foundation of business processes and comprises business rules and
functions for users, customers, regions, products, and organizational elements. Managing master
data ensures consistency and control by providing processes to collect, aggregate, match,
consolidate, quality-assure, and distribute data.

Customer Data Management Use the Customer module to centrally create and monitor customer data, such as address, communication channels, contact partners, store opening hours, and point of sale, and avoid redundancy. For example, update all address data records of a customer by updating the address only one time in the Customer module. Or, add customer-specific conditions to a customer by using condition templates. Use store classification attributes and customers' trade org hierarchy for business processes such as strategic visit planning.
Product Management Manage finished products, bill of materials, advertising material, or competitor products by using product master data. Provide manufacturers a full view of a product's portfolio by organizing products in a hierarchy of product groups, such as categories, subcategories, or brands.
Sales Rep Management Define a team structure to make sales users responsible for customers and to ensure that customer information is used for visit planning, visit execution, and team monitoring.
Set Up Multi-Markets with Sales Orgs Use multi-market management in Consumer Goods (CG) Cloud to filter data, business processes, and configurations within a Salesforce org by market and avoid creating multiple Salesforce orgs for each market. Multi-market management supports a global template approach within an org by setting up sales organizations within a Salesforce org. Multi-market management supports only processes that are based on the enhanced data model, such as advanced visits, advanced orders, sales folders, and advanced promotions. Multi-market isn’t supported out-of-the-box for retail stores, assessment tasks, action plans, or retail store KPIs.
