Order Quantity Suggestion
Sales reps can check suggestions for order quantities when they place an order. The quantity suggestion depends on the number of historical orders that's configured in the order template.
Required Editions
| Available in: Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled. |
When an order is either opened or created, the system shows the suggested product quantity. Quantity is suggested if the product has the Order Quantity option selected in the order template. Also, the product must have a parent product and isn’t a part of any selectable promotions.
If the used order template has the quantity suggestion behavior as Last Quantities and a promotion is selected in the promotion filter, then the system shows the Apply Quantities field. When you tap this option, the suggested quantity is copied to the order.
For products that aren’t part of any promotions, the number of orders to consider (n) for calculation is the value specified in the Number of Historic Quantities field of the order template. Also, the system considers the orders for the same customer, the same order template, and released orders. The system suggest the average of order line item quantities for items with the same item template. For example, if a product is ordered multiple times in the same order with the same item template, then all the line items are considered. The system shows the suggested quantity per line item per unit of measure.
Here's an example how suggested quantity is calculated for products:
- Number of historic quantities (n) = 5
- Number of orders determined on the device with the same order template and customer = 3
- Previous orders
Order Qty Sales Unit Consumer Unit Layer Order 1 - Not related to any promotions: 3
- Related to promotion 1: 3
- Related to promotion 2: 3
0 0 Order 2 0 3 0 Order 3 0 0 3
The system shows this suggested quantity in the Unit of Measures section of a mobile device.
| UoM section | Suggested Qty (Average of last 3 orders) |
|---|---|
| Sales Unit | ((3 + 3 + 3) of Order 1 + 0 of Order 2 + 0 of Order 3) / 3 = (9 + 0 + 0) / 3 = 9 / 3 = 3 |
| Consumer Unit | (0 + 3 + 0) / 3 = 3 / 3 = 1 |
| Layer | (0 + 0 + 3) / 3 = 3 / 3 = 1 |
For special orders, there are restrictions to modify quantities. If the None or Only Decrease options are selected in the Modify Quantity field in the order item template and quantity suggestion aren't applied, then you can't edit the suggestion. To apply the quantity suggestion, tap Apply Quantities and then make edits. For a delivery document, the quantity modification settings are applicable only if the selected option in the Consider Quantity Suggestion field of the order template is Preordered Quantity.
