Point of Sale (POS)
Point of sale (POS) or secondary displays aid in sale and promotion of new products, seasonal merchandise, or even popular products. Drive in-store product visibility and improve sales by recording POS in stores and conducting POS audits as part of field execution activities. POS is supported in store audit questions but not in product related surveys.
POS are placements other than the regular retail display units such as refrigerators, freezers, and vending machines. In the Consumer Goods cloud, a POS record is linked to an account and stores information about all the POS items related to that account. Based on the one-to-many relation, a store or account can have multiple POS items assigned to it. Admins can create a POS template for various types of POS, including the typical ones such as:
-
Cigarette Carrier
-
Dairy Case
-
Freezer
-
Refrigerator
-
Sales Counter
-
Shelf
-
Cigarette Sales Panel
-
Vending Machine
By using a POS template that references any of these POS types, you can create multiple POS records for an account. For example, in the NTO 201 store, there are 3 types of cigarette carriers based on the number of cigarette cases it can hold, such as, 15, 20, and 25 cases of cigarettes respectively. To record and subsequently audit these 3 cigarette carriers as POS items, first create a POS template with the cigarette carrier type of POS. Then, by using this POS template, create a POS record for each of the mentioned quantities in the NTO 201 account.
You can create, update, delete, or discontinue a POS. A POS record typically has a validity time frame, which on expiration the POS item can be either discontinued or deleted. For example, discontinue a shelf type of POS containing seasonal products.
POS can be associated with assets. The hardware or high value assets within POS are tracked and managed through Asset Management.
- Create a POS
Itemize and track the POS set up in your store. - Discontinue a POS
Discontinue a POS when it is no longer applicable or when its products expire. For example, POS for seasonal products, non-moving or obsolete products.
