          Create a Job Definition Template

          Job definition templates define the specific question that a sales rep or merchandiser evaluates when executing a visit. Depending on the job template used, the question defined in a job definition template can be a question or a survey. Each job definition template has a predefined answer format.

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Job Definition Templates, and then click New.
          2. Provide these details:
            Field Description
            Identification
            Job Definition Template Name Name of the job definition template.
            Description Description of the job definition template.
            Job Template Job template that's used to create the job definition template.
            Active Indicates whether a template is active. You can use only active templates to create activity templates or activities.
            Data Type

            Data type of the answer for the question or survey.

            You can define the answers that can be selected by reps from the Data Type Option related list of a data type record.

            Sales Org Sales org of the job definition template.
            Description
            Description Language 1/2/3/4 Description of a job template in the languages configured for the sales org.
            Settings
            Target Value Column

            Sets the value that's preset as an answer for a job definition. This value is fetched from the product assortment assigned to a customer:

            • None: Shows no target value.
            • Facing: Shows the target value from the Facings field of Product Assortment.
            • Price: Shows the target value from the Price Survey field of Product Assortment.
            Primary Survey Policy

            Specification of the primary product survey:

            • Facings
            • Survey
            • Distribution
            • Promotion Participation
            • Display Placement
            • Display Quality
            • Asset Placement
            Competitor Relevant Response to collate competitor information related to (placement or price) of products or promotions.
            Measure Type

            Level that the job definition template is applicable at:

            • Store: Enables the job definition template for stores.
            • POS: Enables the job definition template for point of sale.

            For the POS type, only questions can be shown.

            Sort Order in which a question is shown during a visit.
            Picture Taking Indicates whether you can capture pictures by using a mobile device. Select this option only if the job template type is question.
            Presetting
            Presetting

            Sets the presetting of an answer for a question or survey:

            • None: Presets no value.
            • Last Value: Presets the answer for a question or survey in the last completed visit for the same customer, visit template, product, and source of the question.
            • Target Value: Presets with the value in Facing or Price from the listing for the product. This option is applicable only for surveys.
            Save Presetting

            Indicates whether the job definition is saved with a preset value when a visit is completed.

            If this option is selected, the job definition is saved with a preset value when a visit is completed even if the job isn’t marked as Done.

            If this option isn’t selected, a job definition is saved only if a value is edited.

            Save Presetting applies only for surveys. Consumer Goods Cloud doesn’t support save presetting for questions.

            We recommend that you choose this option only on an as-needed basis. Choosing this option significantly impacts the number of records synced for the Visit Job object and ‌the sync performance. This option sometimes requires you to implement archival to make sure that storage limits aren’t exhausted.

            Survey Identification

            Used by mobility to store survey identification values listed.

            • Facings
            • Price Survey
            • Distribution

            Note: Survey Identification currently doesn't support POS Facing, POS Price, or POS Distribution.

            Stepper
            Use Stepper Indicates whether a stepper control can be used to answer questions or surveys on mobile devices. This setting is applicable for job definition templates with numeric answer formats.
            Step Size Incremental value of a stepper control. Enter a value greater than zero.
            Numeric Control
            Consider Min Value Indicates whether to consider a minimum value defined for the job definition template when the answer is entered for a question or survey. This setting is applicable only for numeric answer formats.
            Min Value Minimum value that can be entered as an answer for a question or survey. This setting is applicable only for numeric answer formats.
            Consider Max Value Indicates whether to consider a maximum value defined for the job definition template when the answer is entered for a question or survey. This setting is applicable only for numeric answer formats.
            Max Value Maximum value that can be entered as an answer for a question or survey. This setting is applicable only for numeric answer formats.
            Date Policy
            Min Date Policy

            Indicates the minimum value that can be entered in the answer field for questions or survey:

            • None
            • Min Date
            • Max Date
            • Today
            • Next Year

            This setting is applicable only to questions or surveys that require a date as an answer.

            Max Date Policy

            Indicates the maximum value that can be entered in the answer field for questions or surveys:

            • None
            • Min Date
            • Max Date
            • Today
            • Next Year

            This setting is applicable to questions or surveys that require a date as an answer.

          3. Save your changes.
          • Create a Data Type
            Define data type and the data type options that sales reps can choose as the answer for a question during a visit.
