          Create a Key Type

          Create a Key Type

A Key type is a combinations of key attributes that are used to search for specific conditions. Most common keys such as customer, customer set, and product can be directly defined in the key definition section of the key type. More flexible keys (out of customer, product, order entity) can be defined in key attributes (Key Definitions section). A key type can contain up to 10 key attributes.

          Example
Example A few key types (combination of keys or key attributes) can be:
          • Customer-product combinations (for example, Empower Cola products for NTO Atlanta)
          • Running promotions (Back to school programs)
          • Customer or product hierarchies (for example, all accounts of NTO Atlanta or all products under the beverages category)
          • Customer sets (for example, all priority A customers for NTO Atlanta).

A customer can belong to multiple customer sets. For example, customer A (orderer) belongs to Customer Set 1 and Customer Set 2. For a product,

            • If Customer Set 1 has a pricing condition of 10 per unit and Customer Set 2 ‌ has a pricing condition of 8 per unit, then the pricing engine applies the most recent price found, which is 8 per unit in this case.
            • If Customer Set 1 gets a 10% discount and Customer Set 2 gets a 5% discount, the pricing engine applies both discounts, resulting in a total of 15% discount on the product value.
