            Create a Segmentation Rule

            To create customer sets, create segmentation rules using segmentation rule templates and segmentation rule definitions. You can use only the segmentation rule templates that are assigned to your sales org.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled
            User Permissions Needed
            To create segmentation rules:

            CGCloud Business Admin

            OR

            CGCloud Retail Business Admin
            1. From the App Launcher, find and select Segmentation Rules, and then click New.
            2. Provide these details:
              Field Description
              Identification
              Segmentation Rule Template Name of the segmentation rule template.
              Sales Org Sales org of the selected segmentation rule.
              Segmentation Rule Definition Name of the segmentation rule definition.
              Description Description of the selected segmentation rule definition.
              Description
              Description Language 1/2/3/4 Description of the segmentation rule in the languages configured for the sales org.
              Segmentation Parameter
              Result Level

              Result level from which customer records are retrieved. The options are:

              • Trade Org: Select for TPM accounts. Accounts with valid dates in the Account_Extension__c.Promotion_Valid_From__c and Account_Extension__c.Promotion_Valid_Thru__c fields are retrieved.
              • Store: Select for Retail accounts. Accounts with valid dates in the Account_Extension__c.Store_Role_Valid_From__c and Account_Extension__c.Store_Role_Valid_Thru__c fields are retrieved.

              If the source object is Account, then Sales Org and Result Level can be combined. If the source object is Account_Extension__c, then child-to-parent relationship can be used.
              Org Unit Hierarchy Node/Account Hierarchy Node

              The Org Unit Hierarchy node or the Account Hierarchy node of the segmentation rule.

              Note This field is shown only if the Use Org Unit Hierarchy or the Use Account Hierarchy options are selected for the segmentation rule definition.
            3. Save the segmentation rule:
              1. Click Preview Filters.
                A list of the customers who fulfill the query parameters appears.
              2. Save your changes.
                The process to recalculate the segmentation is initiated.
