          Validation Checks for an Order

When you create an order, the system performs certain checks. Keep these validation checks in mind before submitting an order through the Consumer Goods Cloud Desktop app.

          Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled

Checks are run for these validations for the products in an order:

          • The product is active.
          • The product has at least one default UoM—Is Order Unit and Order Ability are set to True. Only products with default UoM are shown in the order items.
          • The product has at least one UoM with Is Price Unit set to True.
          • If Consider Field Availability is set to True in the Order template, then the order date is between the product’s Field Valid From and Field Valid To dates.
          • If Consider Delivery State is set to Yes in the order template, then the order date is between the product’s Delivery Valid From and Delivery Valid To dates.
          • Order Template is active and the association of Order Item Template with Order Template is also active.

Here are the checks for prepopulation of products from closed listings in the order items screen. If all the conditions are valid, then only products that are part of the closed listing can be added to the order.

          • Consider Listing is set to Yes in Order templates and Closed Listing is set to Yes in the Order Item template.
          • The record type is Assortment List in product assortment templates.
          • Order date ranges from Valid From and Valid To dates in Assortment Products.
          • Product Assortment Template and Assortment Product are active.
          • Product Assortment Obligatory is set to Yes. If Product Assortment Obligatory is set to No for any authorization list associated with the account, then the checks for prepopulation of products from closed listing are not valid.

The system doesn’t perform the checks while submitting an order in these scenarios:

          • When a free item is added—Order Items where the Parent Type isn’t null.
          • Order Items where the Product Type is Empty.
          • Order Items where the Product Type is Promotion.
