CLM and DocGen Sample Permission Sets Reference for CME
Use CLM and DocGen sample permission sets to extend the features and functionalities of your user licenses. The sample permission sets provide objects, classes, and page access that can be used with the CLM and DocGen permission set licenses and managed permission sets. Some sample permission sets provide read-only access, while others grant the ability to create and edit records. Each permission set grants a different level of access to a different set of objects and fields.
Starting Spring '22, you can download and deploy the sample permission sets and sample permission set groups. To learn more about deploying sample permission sets, see Deploy Sample Permission Sets and Permission Set Groups.
The sample permission sets and sample permission set groups are a recommended set of minimum permissions that cover only the basic features, to quickly give the required access to your users. These permission sets can be customized.
- CLM and DocGen Sample Permission Set Groups for CME
A permission set group streamlines permissions assignment and management. Use a permission set group to bundle permission sets together based on user job functions. In CLM and DocGen, we recommend these sample permission sets and sample permission set groups for CME. - CLM and DocGen Sample Permission Sets for CME
Users don’t require access to all the features to perform their role’s tasks. For example, a runtime user doesn't need access to docusign setup and contract setup entities to run contract document generation, create versions, compare versions, reconcile contract documents, checkout, lock and unlock, and submit for contract approval. Use sample permission sets to give your users access to only the features that they require to complete their tasks. - CLM and DocGen Organization-Wide Sharing Defaults
You can define the default access level for an object’s records with organization-wide sharing settings. Organization-wide sharing settings can be set separately for custom objects and some standard objects. You can set different levels of access for internal and external users for CLM and DocGen. - CLM and DocGen Permission Set Combinations with Other Permission Sets for CME
Many of the tasks require that you understand permission set combinations. The table below provides a detailed mapping of the sample personas with the required managed permissions sets and sample permission sets. The table lists CLM and DocGen specific permission sets along with additional permission sets required for certain features. For information on the CLM and DocGen sample personas, see CLM and DocGen Personas.
