          Configure Multi-Site Customizations

          Configure Multi-Site Customizations

You can customize some aspects of the Multi-Site feature, such as which objects can be in groups and which object fields are displayed.

You don't need to customize the Multi-Site feature if all of the following are true. For the Fall '19 and Winter '20 releases, only the last two items apply.

          • You want to limit users to one structure: a master Quote or Order with child Quotes or Orders.

          • You don't need to enable the option of invoking Apply to Group, Validate and Price, and Submit on the group page.

          • You plan to use only Service Point objects for grouping.

          • You don't need additional display fields or filters on the group page.

          • You don't need to change the group pane, page size, or batch size in Industries Cart.

If any of these conditions are false, see the following sections.

Extend the Batch Job Notification Functionality

The notification functionality is implemented using the UserNotifier implementation. The default implementation generates a Salesforce application notification message when a master quote batch job gets completed. To learn more about UserNotifier implementation, see UserNotifier Implementation.

You can replace the default implementation with your own to suit your business needs and requirements. To learn more about how to extend an implementation, see Working with Implementations.

          • Set up Custom Master Quote Record Types
In the Energy & Utility market, the C&I space has a large diverse customer base. These customers can be differentiated based on the utility service provided such as electricity, gas, or both. The multisite framework lets you generate master quotes and the subsequent master orders based on the type of customers.
          • Configure the Single or Multiple Structure
You can configure which Quote or Order structure users can create:
          • Enable Apply to Group, Validate and Price, and Submit on the Group Page
You can enable the Apply to Group, Validate and Price, and Submit buttons on the group page. This saves time and steps by eliminating the need to click these buttons separately for each group in the cart.
          • Configure Apply to Group for Changed Members Only
A multi-site Quote or Order may consist of a large number of premises, service points, locations, accounts, or subscribers grouped in single or multiple groups. To create multi-site Quote or Order, you may perform multiple iterations to add or remove groups or group members in a master Quote or Order. The multi-site framework optimizes the Apply to Group functionality by adding product line items in the Group-Cart/Group-Quote or Order only to the newly added or changed group members.
          • Configure Existing Objects for Grouping
By default, only Service Point objects are fully configured for use on the group page. You can include Service Accounts, Premises, or Subscribers by activating them. Including other objects requires more configuration.
          • Configure a New Object for Grouping
You can configure objects other than Service Points, Service Accounts, Premises, or Subscribers for use on the group page.
          • Configure Field Settings for Display Columns
For any grouping object, you can configure existing Multi-Site field settings for table columns that are displayed on the group page by default, or you can add new fields to the table. To configure grouping objects, see the previous section.
          • Configure Filters
For any grouping object, you can customize filters.
          • Configure the Multi-Site Group Pane in Industries Cart
You can modify the multiservice-cpq-group-list card and template to configure the Multi-Site group pane. The group pane is the pane on the left of Industries Cart and includes the group name of the service points, the market identifier, and the name of the premises. You can modify the appearance of the group pane by adding new fields, hiding the default fields, or changing the layout depending on your specific business needs.
          • Configure the Page Size for Groups in Industries Cart
Learn how to configure the page size for groups, group members, or ungrouped items. When you configure the page size, it impacts the number of results for each item that appears on the managed group page and the Vlocity Group Cart page.
          • Configure the Batch Size
You can determine the number of group members to the process by configuring the batch size for the following cards in the OmniScript Designer.
          • Disable Batch Job Notifications
As a default behavior, the notification messages are generated whenever a batch job gets completed.
