Creating a Change Order
When you change an order, existing assets are marked with an orange flag. You can change an order through an account's assets. You select the assets and change them to a new order. A change order is also known as a future-dated order.
If you're using versioned products, you can create a change of versions as well as a change of products. This version change allows customers to upgrade existing assets to the newest versions. The hierarchy of the products in the target can change depending on the reference dates. The hierarchy of the source line items remains the same. Purchased products, or assets, are not automatically upgraded to the current version. You must select what items to replace or modify. When you add or replace a product or version, the available versions are based on the change order's request date and the product's versioning start and end dates. See Versioning Reference Dates and Product Versioning Start and End Dates.
You can see existing promotions on the Promotions tab. From there, you can cancel promotions and search the Promotions list for more promotions to update or add.
- Go to the Account record detail page.
- Go to the Assets page and select an asset to update.
-
Click Change to Order.
Future-dated orders are orders that execute in the future. Industries Cart displays only those items, including promotions, that are effective for that date.
- Select a request date and click Next.
-
To upgrade assets to newer versions or to change products:
- In the product list, search for the parent product in the bundle.
- Click the Replace tab in the product list.
- From the search results in the product list, click Replace for the product that matches the asset.
-
In the Replace Current Plan? dialog box, select the items to update, and click Apply.
Note A new product bundle appears in the cart. It includes all the current products and versions, but it replaces items with those selected. The previous product bundle is marked as Disconnect. With a change of versions, it's a modification and not a full disconnect and add. So, if you upgraded a PCI from version 1 to version 2, only version 2 is shown. If your cart has multiple instances of the same product version in the bundle, you can't select which ones are replaced: You must replace all or none of the versions.
- To compare the current and future assets, click Compare from the parent product menu.
