- What are Permission Set Licenses, Permission Set Groups, and Permission Sets?
You can control users' access to CME features and functionality with permission set licenses, permission set groups, and permission sets. - View Your Purchased Permission Set Licenses
When you purchase Communications, Media or Energy Cloud licenses, permission set licenses are automatically provisioned in your org. If you purchased Communications, Media or Energy Cloud before 17 May, 2022, you can continue to use your existing managed package licenses. In order to confirm if your org is using Permission Set Licenses please follow the steps below. - View Your Managed Package Licenses
If you purchased Communications, Media or Energy Cloud before 17 May, 2022, your org is provisioned with managed package licenses. Learn how to view your managed package licenses. - Map Permission Sets to Permission Set Licenses
After installation, the CME managed package adds permission sets for the Communications, Media, and Energy verticals to your org. Some of these permission sets map to permission set licenses. For each license that you purhcased, grant your users the equivalent permission set. This allows your users to access various applications and features. You can only use permission sets for which you own the equivalent permission set license. - Assign Permission Sets and Permission Set Licenses
To use Communications, Media, and Energy features, assign permission sets and permission set licenses to your users. - Deploy Sample Permission Sets and Permission Set Groups
You can optionally deploy and install sample permission sets and permission set groups. The sample permission sets provide object, class, and page access for your cloud. You can use permission set groups with both types of CME licenses - managed package licenses and permission set licenses. - Clone and Customize Managed Permission Sets
The Communications, Media, and Energy managed package provides managed permission sets out-of-the-box that provide access to the various features available in the package. Since these permission sets can provide broad access to features, you can optionally clone and customize these permission sets to provide fine-grained access to your users. - Set Up Sandbox Environments for Permission Set Licenses
Depending on your release, set up sandbox environments to test permission set licenses. - Remove Managed Package Licenses From a Single User
If you're migrating a user from managed package licenses to permission set licenses, remove managed package licenses from the user. - Remove Managed Package Licenses From Multiple Users
If you're migrating multiple users from managed package licenses to permission set licenses, remove managed package licenses from these users. - Verify Permission Set Licenses in Production
After assigning your custom permission set licenses and permission set groups, verify that your users can access the apps and objects that they expect. If your users were previously using managed package licenses, ensure that they're removed from their accounts.
