Industries Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ)
Industries CPQ simplifies complex sales processes by ensuring accurate quotes and efficient order capture. It's available in both Angular and Lightning Web Components (LWC) versions, with the enahnced LWC CPQ offering enhanced performance and usability.
Industries CPQ is now available in two versions:
- Angular CPQ or Hybrid CPQ: Angular CPQ, also known as Hybrid CPQ, is an Industries CPQ solution developed using Angular JavaScript (AngularJS) framework. It leverages the Industries CPQ cart functionality for creating and submitting orders for a company's products and services.
- Industries CPQ in LWC: Industries CPQ in LWC is available in two versions, LWC CPQ and New
LWC CPQ. To choose the best software, consider the level of customization needed, the
similarities between different versions, and the size of your product bundles.
- LWC CPQ: This Industries CPQ interface is built using Flexcards and is available since Winter '22. This interface provides more customization options but has performance limitations, particularly with complex product bundles. For information on how to deploy Industries CPQ, see Deploy Industries CPQ.
- Enhanced LWC CPQ: This Enhanced LWC CPQ interface offers improved usability and
performance for Industries CPQ. It uses native components to boost performance. It's
available since Spring '24, and is accessible within the standard Industries CPQ
application. For a reliable user experience and enhanced performance in complex product
bundles, we recommend you enable the Enhanced LWC CPQ.
To enable the enhanced CPQ cart with LWC, see Enable the Enhanced LWC CPQ. To customize the Enhanced LWC CPQ, see Customize the Enhanced LWC CPQ.
Industries CPQ Considerations
For new customers, we recommend that you use the Enhanced LWC CPQ, which is optimized for best performance. But if you've been using Industries CPQ, depending on your version, we have some recommendations for you. While you can always use a CPQ version of your choice, knowing about the competitive offerings in other versions can help you make a better choice.

For Winter '22 and later, Industries CPQ is available in a Lightning Web Components (LWC) interface. Open the Industries CPQ app from the Salesforce app launcher. The Cart for Industries CPQ has a new LWC layout. You can select Add Products to open the Cart in LWC from an order or quote from the Industries CPQ app or from another app, such as Sales. You can also open the Cart from the Assets tab for an account. - Industries CPQ and Versioning
When versioning is enabled, Industries CPQ supports versioned products and shows the valid version. It builds product structures based on products' lifecycle status, their versioning dates, and the reference dates for orders, opportunities, and quotes. - Industries CPQ for Energy & Utilities Cloud
Industries CPQ provides many benefits for energy and utility companies, mostly regarding pricing. Whether you are a retail energy company or a regulated utility, and whether your customer is a homeowner or a business with many office locations, CPQ lets you give the customer a calculated estimate up front, before they sign up. In a regulated market, this depends partly on their geographic locations. - Enable the Enhanced CPQ Cart with Lightning Web Components (LWC)
The enhanced Lightning Web Components (LWC) interface offers improved usability and performance for Industries Configure, Price, and Quote (CPQ). The current Industries CPQ interface built with Flexcards has limitations, especially with complex product bundles. To ensure a reliable user experience and address these performance issues for complex product bundles, enable the enhanced CPQ Cart with LWC. - Flow Management in Industries CPQ
Flows define sequential processing of rules, logic, and custom processing that can be initiated by an interface implementation, specify calls to Apex, and can access any service. - Order Capture in Industries CPQ
Salesforce Industries CPQ order-capture capabilities enable you to manage the order capture flow using Industries Cart and an asset-based ordering system. - Pricing Definition in Industries CPQ
Industries Communications, Media and Energy enables you to price products and promotions according to your business requirements. You have the flexibility to adjust prices, use loyalty points, or change prices over time. - Enterprise Product Catalog (EPC)
Salesforce' s Enterprise Product Catalog (EPC) enables you to introduce and effectively manage a portfolio of products that are relevant to customers, released at the most opportune time, and at a low cost. EPC helps you manage the end-to-end processes and product data relevant to the product development, product launch, and in-life product management activities of your organization. - Discounts in Industries CPQ and EPC
A discount is defined as a reduction in price on a product, a catalog (collection of products), or the contents of the Cart. The discount is negotiated, approved, activated, and applied towards the current or future purchase of products or services. You can create and apply discounts to an account or define and apply discounts as part of a contract. You can also apply discounts in the Cart. - Context Rules and Advanced Rules Frameworks
Industries CPQ has two rules frameworks that work in tandem: context rules and advanced rules. - Change of Plans in Industries CPQ and Product Catalog
Customers of service providers can be enabled to change or migrate their services and plans after the initial purchase. - Multi-Site Quote and Order Capture for Industries CPQ
Communications & Media Energy & Utilities businesses can have thousands of locations, service accounts, or subscribers for which to create quotes or orders. The Cart-Based APIs and their remote methods provide a layer of abstraction between client application development and the configuration of the underlying CPQ logic. - MultiServiceAppHandler
MultiServiceAppHandler is a wrapper for CpqAppHandler that automatically handles scaling for processing thousands of sites and orders. Use this class and its methods when processing multiple items for multiple sites. - Vlocity Cards for CPQ
