          Move, Add, Change, Delete (MACD)

Changing an asset to an order or a quote initiates a guided process that moves one or more assets between service locations.

In the Communications Cloud, MACD orders and Asset-based orders refer to the same process. The acronym MACD stands for:

          • Move: Relocate products or services from one location to another.

          • Add: Introduce new products or services.

          • Change: Modify existing products or services.

          • Delete: Remove, disconnect, or discontinue existing products or services.

          Note
          Note

Starting with the Summer '23 release, you can transfer assets from a source account (moveOutAccount) to a target account (moveInAccount). From the Winter '24 release, you can only move assets within the same Account Hierarchy.

The MACD process enables customers to choose their move-in and move-out dates, select their new location, and create an order to disconnect their assets from the original site, and reconnect them at the new location. To make sure the assets are properly ordered, navigate to the Vlocity CMT Administration tab, and select CPQ Configuration Setup under Custom Settings, and set up the following CPQ configurations:

          • Set NeedRenumberCorrection to true.
          • Set UseAssetReferenceIdForParentAndRoot to true.

Asset-based ordering ensures accurate data capture across any channel or device. You can add first-level assets by following the opportunity-to-quote-to-order-to-asset cycle.
